For Coco Reynolds, design is as much about material, craft and collaboration as it is about form. Founder and creative force behind Marz Designs, Coco brings an industrial design background and multidisciplinary approach to lighting, furniture and interiors. Her work is characterised by a quiet confidence, combining simple forms, natural materials and subtle details that give each piece its character.

Based in Byron Bay, Marz Designs has grown from Coco’s fascination with the relationship between craft and industrial process. The studio works closely with Australian artisans, makers and designers, bringing together materials including timber, ceramic, glass and metal to create lighting that feels contemporary, tactile and enduring.

Coco’s design philosophy is rooted in the belief that functional objects can also have an emotional and aesthetic presence. Drawing influence from mid-century and modernist design, her work embraces clean silhouettes, tactile materials and balanced proportions, allowing the material and light itself to take centre stage. Each fitting is designed to contribute to an interior when switched off, while creating warmth and atmosphere once illuminated.

Collaboration sits at the heart of Marz Designs. Components are developed alongside skilled glassblowers, ceramicists and timber turners before being brought together and hand assembled in the Byron Bay studio. The subtle variations found in natural and handmade materials become part of each piece, giving the collection a sense of individuality and authenticity.
