Objects for Thought

Objects for Thought is a design studio driven by instinct, material exploration, and precision. Founded and directed by artists and designers Jay Jermyn and CJ Anderson, the studio creates objects that feel inherently right, unconcerned with convention and informed by dialogue, introspection, and collaboration. Informal conversations evolve into physical forms, resulting in contemporary fixtures that resist trends while remaining adaptable to both private and commercial spaces.

Collaboration is central to Oft’s practice. By engaging visionary designers and maintaining close relationships with key collaborators and manufacturers locally and internationally, the studio ensures a seamless connection between design and production. Each work reflects the shared contribution of artists, makers, stockists, and clients who continue to support and shape Oft’s direction.

The studio’s debut collection, the Rider Range, presents a cohesive suite of lighting defined by understated elegance. Centred around a signature glass dome, offered in Single, Double, Triple, and Quad variants, the collection embodies a sense of wholeness and visual softness. Designed as surface-mounted wall and ceiling luminaires, Rider fixtures are versatile in application and suited to a wide range of residential and commercial environments.
