City Villa is a smart update of a 100 year-old Remuera villa, blending the charm of the original home with fresh, modern design.

Architect Chris Tate retained the elegant street facade but added a spacious rear extension that opens onto a stylish terrace and pool. Inside, clean lines, soft greys, timber and concrete create a calm, inviting space.

The old and new sit side by side beautifully. The villa’s historic details stay at the front, while the modern extension houses a light filled open plan kitchen, dining and living area that flows effortlessly outdoors. Large sliding doors and a lowered ceiling in the extension make the home feel airy, with a loft style primary suite above.

Lighting is a key feature in City Villa, anchored by the Reggiani Outline 24V trimless track running throughout the kitchen, dining, and living areas. Over the kitchen island, Yori 35mm Pendants hang slightly off center creating a slimline, modern feature, while adjustable Yori Outline 24V spots provide flexible, general illumination throughout.

Wall grazing profile and concealed strip lighting in the cabinetry & exterior patio add layers of depth and atmosphere without calling attention to themselves.
