AQForm in collaboration with Dechem studio, have combined the timeless form of the sphere with the latest LED technology to create the new Modern Ball collection.
Dechem Studio
Located in Prague and founded in 2012 by Michaela Tomišková and Jakub Janďourek, award-winning design studio Dechem focuses on the high-end design and creation of contemporary handmade glass products based on traditional production techniques and lyrical forms.
Dechem manufacture all of their glass products in traditional Czech workshops using delicate techniques including hand-made blowing, snapping, cutting, grinding, firing, engraving and painting. The studio is also involved in bespoke design, collaborating with renowned galleries, institutions and brands. This is Dechem’s second product collaboration with AQForm.
Modern Ball’s minimalist design combines hand-blown glass spheres with contemporary metal forms. The opaque glass spheres gently diffuse the light creating a soft glow, while offering high visual comfort.
Consisting of suspended and surface mounted options in 1, 2, 3 and 4 LED module versions, the Modern Ball collection is suitable for a multitude of interior applications. A single Ball module emits nearly 1000 lumens at CRI>90, with dimming options available for some versions. Modern Ball is available in 2700K, 3000K and 4000K colour temperatures and with a Black, White, Grey, Gold or Copper metal structure.
Fusing classic and contemporary forms and materials, Modern Ball’s moon-like spherical aesthetic is timeless.
